Dr. Elie Ramly is a Harvard-trained plastic and reconstructive surgeon based in Beverly Hills, with a uniquely refined approach to facial aesthetics, rhinoplasty, and complex revision surgery. Known for his patient-centred approach, Dr. Ramly combines surgical precision with an artist’s eye, delivering results that are as natural as they are transformative.

Raised in a family of physicians, Dr. Ramly developed an early appreciation for the relationship between science, healing, and beauty. He completed his medical degree at the American University of Beirut before pursuing postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), where he was later awarded the MGH Postdoctoral Recognition Award for his contributions. He went on to train and deliver clinical care at some of the most respected institutions in the world, including NYU Langone Health where he helped bring forth pioneering contributions in facial transplantation, Oregon Health & Science University - the United States’ largest general surgery program, and Harvard’s Mass General Brigham Plastic Surgery Program where he completed his plastic and reconstructive surgery clinical training.

Dr. Ramly’s academic career has been deeply rooted in innovation. Dr. Ramly was part of the historic team that completed the world’s first successful combined full-face and bilateral hand transplant for a patient suffering from severe burn injuries — a milestone in modern reconstructive surgery. He is a prolific researcher and has authored more than 90 peer-reviewed scientific publications and book chapters, and his work has been cited in over 1730 scientific publications in addition to governmental policy documents and clinical guidelines.

Dr. Ramly serves as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Annals of Plastic Surgery, the Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Journal, and the Aesthetic Surgery Journal. He has served for years as a member of the advisory board of the Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and as was nominated for two consecutive terms as an ambassador for the Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery-Global Open. His scientific background in craniofacial trauma, reconstruction, and facial transplantation, and his subsequent dedication to aesthetic surgery have provided him with uniquely solid foundation for advanced results in aesthetic surgery of the face, nose, breast and body.

Beyond his training at Harvard at the world’s top institutions and with the world experts in their field, Dr. Ramly further refined his aesthetic skills by visiting twenty of the top plastic surgeons in aesthetic private practice across the US in New York, Beverly Hills, Boston, Miami, Dallas, and Chicago. This dedication to mastering his craft and pushing the field forward is a hallmark of Dr. Ramly’s commitment to deliver the absolute best care possible to his patients.

Dr. Ramly is regularly involved in global volunteering initiatives to improve facial surgical care on an international level. He contributes regularly to improving global surgical clinical care and education through his work with cleft lip and palate care missions and the Plastic Surgery Foundation’s Surgeons in Humanitarian Alliance for Reconstructive, Research and Education (SHARE) initiative for global plastic surgery.
